In honor of the 250th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, we will be unveiling a new American Revolution Conflict Memorial Wall which honors the patriots who secured our nation’s independence. This monument is especially meaningful because there is currently no other memorial in the park dedicated to the American Revolution.
The unveiling ceremony is planned for approximately 8:35–9:00 p.m., immediately prior to the fireworks celebration at the Love Civic Center.
We are intentionally scheduling the ceremony between two community events that will already be drawing a large audience: the municipal band performance at the pavilion from 7:30–8:30 p.m., and the fireworks display that is scheduled for 9:15 p.m.
The event is free and for everyone.
We also encourage families to join us at 7:30 p.m. for the Municipal Band performance at the Pavilion. We will have patriotic, educational activity books for the kids to color.
We will also have pocket Constitutions, which also contains the Declaration of Independence, to offer to the public. This is a great time to rededicate our attention to our founding documents and remember the magnitude and significance of the events of the American Revolution. Happy 4th of July!!
