Located in downtown Roxton (just a short drive from Paris) the museum offers visitors a glimpse of the town’s rich history through a collection of artifacts and photographs. Roxton is a trailhead on the Chaparral Rails to Trails, a section of the Northeast Texas Trail, that runs from Farmersville to New Boston. The trail attracts bikers from Texas and all over the nation. Visitors enjoy the vast collection of Roxton school and town memorabilia, militaria, and Indian artifacts. On the museum grounds is the Roxton Veterans’ Memorial, created to honor those who gave their all to their country. The museum, located on the trail, is a testament to Roxton’s commitment to preserving its history and providing educational resources for both residents and visitors. The museum is open the first Saturday of each month from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., by appointment, and special events. Group tours are welcome.
