Located in Roxton, Texas, (a short drive from Paris) the City Drug Store Museum was an operating drug store from 1904 until 2006. The museum, a walk back in history, preserves a vital piece of Americana. Visitors can explore the museum’s collection of pharmaceutical, merchandise, equipment, and advertising pieces, most original to the Roxton City Drug Store, as well as an early 20th century doctor’s office with an extensive research library of historical medical books, and a fully equipped optometrists’ office. A favorite of visitors is an old fashioned, marble soda fountain. The museum is open on the first Saturday of each month from 10:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m., for special events, and by appointment.
